CULTURES DU MAQUIS, is a non-profit-making organization created by Coopérative Cravirola.

Who are Cravirola co-operative?
We are a ten person collective who have long shared an alternative and jointly managed live-work situation (read more on about us ). Because of isolation and space constraints, we leave the Alpes Maritimes in early 2007 and move to a new site "The Maquis". This allow us to expand our activities in agriculture, the arts, and militancy in a space more favorable to creativity and exchanges.

 

Our new farm, The Domain of Bois Bas nicknamed "Le Maquis" offers many possibilities for a thousand and one dreams. To make them come true, Cravirola co-operative is calling-up all enthusiasts and well wishers to workcamps that take place each months exept july, august and september.

WORKCAMPS

 What is a workcamp ? Holidays which are not only enjoyable but also productive. In which one meets young people from different countries and backgrounds, who have come to understand manual work through actually doing it and who wish to experiment a life of sharing.

Camps take place all year long, during the two last weeks of each months (exept june, july, august and september).

NEXT WORKCAMP (FROM MONDAY TO FRIDAY):

FROM FEBRUARY, 15TH TO 26th

FROM MARCH, 22TH TO APRIL 2ND

FROM APRIL, 19TH TO 30th

FROM MAY , 17TH TO 28th

MAIN WORKS : WOODING, BUILDING, ...

CAUTION ! It's absolutly necessary to arrive the first day of the camp.

During that camps, you will participate to all kinds of tasks depending of the season, like wooding or gardenning, and to daily work : taking care of the animals, milking , making cheese, etc. You will also help to different construction works of the moment. you will choose what kind of job you prefer. On the farm, a part of us speaks english and german. (But please don't e-write in german !)

Financial costs : 45 euros

• 40 euros for one workcamp for board, lodging and insurance. (the price is the same if you stay one week or two)

• 5 euros for subscription to the organization

Requirements :

• minimum age 18 years

• at least one week of participation.

 

Practical details . 8 participants, maximum. If you want to participate, just send us an e-mail and tell when you are intersted to come . If you come by train, it's absolutly necessary arrive the first day in LEZIGNAN-CORBIERES station, in the afternoon. You need to take a sleeping bag, and workclothes, flashlight, write us in you have any questions. (You can see more photos of the farm on the french version website )

Caution, there will be no such workcamps during july and august but you are welcome on our camp that also propose various activiies (workshop, concerts, ...), click here to know more
